Location
Salto del Negro is a small hamlet inland of the Costa del Sol in the Axarquia. Lying on a bend in the river Benamargosa, the hamlet is surrounded by plantations of sub-tropical fruits. The hamlet is very quiet and ideal for a peaceful break. The neighbours are open and friendly and very helpful. There is a bakery and a small shop, and daily deliveries are made of fresh fish, vegetables and meat. It´s a good base for day trips by car, or bicycle outings. Only 2km distant is the village of Benamargosa with bars, restaurants, banks, supermarkets, healthcentre and open air swimming pool. The beaches at the coast are less than a half hour away and the airport at Málaga is an hour´s drive.
The house
The house is located in a narrow street, directly above the orchards which offer some coolness in the summer. Directly across from the front door of the house is the large sun terrace, from which there are lovely views of the surroundings and orchards bordering the river. You enter into the sitting room through the front door, beyond which is a dining area leading into the kitchen. The bathroom leads off the kitchen to the rear of the house. One of the double bedrooms is accessed off the dining area. A staircase to the first floor leads up to the second double bedroom, which has twin beds.
