La Zubia: Andalucian village house with large terrace

Location

La Zubia is a small hamlet on the banks of the River Benamargosa, some 25 minutes driving time from the Mediterranean coast. Due to the cultivation of citrus fruits and avocados, the area is always green, even in the height of summer. The hamlet consists of a collection of houses and although there are no shops here, daily deliveries are made of bread, fish, vegetables and other necessities. It is 5 km to the next village, Benamargosa, where there are shops, bars, banks and a summer opening public swimming pool, as well as a health centre. It is possible to visit the Costa del Sol and other inland areas such as Seville, Córdoba and Granada from this location.

A bedroom

This typical village house lies to the rear of other houses with views across the river bed. Via a large terrace at the front of the house, you enter into the living room with kitchen area. On the ground floor there is a double bedroom and a bathroom with shower. At first floor level is a through room which has two single beds leading into another bedroom. There is an old Andalucian chimney place in the house for heating in winter.
