Property

Via a short path you reach the shaded, terracotta tiled terrace to the front of the farmhouse. There is a sitting area which has lovely views across the outlying hills. You enter into the welcoming sitting room with open fireplace. A corridor leads to the rear part of the house and to the left there is the entrance to a bright spacious double bedroom with exit to the terrace at the front, and the bathroom. There is a shower, bidet and opening roof-light. To the right of the corridor there is a single bedroom. At the end there is a small staircase leading to the kitchen. This is fitted with wooden units and has two opening roof-lights. From here there is access to a further terrace at the rear of the farmhouse. A staircase also leads to an as yet un-renovated room, which is currently used as a store room. Also from the kitchen, you can access a tiled pathway which leads around the house to a studio which is used as a sitting room, which also has a large bedroom with spacious en-suite shower room. There is a roof terrace, access to which has not yet been completed. The water deposit has a capacity of 15,000 litres and electricity is currently provided by a generator.

Remarks

The entire property has been lovingly restored and many typical rustic details has been maintained, such as traditional ceiling beams with bamboo. It´s a pretty farmhouse available at an interesting price.

Location

The view

The farmhouse is located between Cútar and Comares, and you reach it via Cútar over a 3km long flat dirt track which is in good condition. Cútar is one of the whitewashed villages of the Axarquia. It´s off the beaten tourist track and has retained its original charm and peacefulness. There are very few driveable streets through the village, due to its steepness, but there are two small shops providing day to day necessities, as well as two bar/restaurants, a chemist and a doctor. The nearest large village is Benamargosa which has various shops and eating options, only seven minutes drive from Cútar. The coast and the town of Velez-Málaga can be reached in just over half an hour, and Málaga city is an hour away.
